aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa yes as the anti mining cancer from the klamath yet spreads it's tenascious tentacles yet ever farther forevermore...................F"M" as only county jurisdictional lands ONLY.....John :censored:

There's all ready one county, Douglas County, has had a prohibition against metal detecting for years. I tell you, county supervisors can be real dumb ass's. I really don't think that's going to fly in Larimar, those rual counties see a good bit of business from prospectors. Also, the county can't regulate the BLM lands, and there's a lot more BLM than county property.

This is raising quite a reaction in the prospecting community here in CO. I am told the GPAA is actively working with the county to avoid regulations we don't really need.

As mentioned Douglas County (home to one of the very first gold strikes in CO) has already banned any disturbing or taking of anything on their park n open space lands. At the other extreme, Jefferson County is actively welcoming prospecting on their lands, improving stream access and even allows dredging in large productive areas...so come to CO and spend your money there!!

This is where a Change.org petition would do some good and get support for prospectors.
Someone local should start a petition to keep the lands open to prospecting.

They are banning panning in large areas here in the Southern US. To many people doing it and they are trying to stop it.
