Where I am at, the banks are beginning to sell rolls of coin in tough plastic bags. I have found that these do not produce anywhere near as well as coin in the cardboard boxes....but such is CRH where I am at.

That's a really good return. I was able to do $1000 in dimes a week before the 4th of July when things slowed down and one of the coin counters broke. I'm glad you started doing it considering your location in the Iowa coin dumping chain, and glad you took my info seriously. I finally feel like I was able to give back to the community that has taught me so much. And more importantly, I'm glad that this way you aren't dipping into my supply :) Just pray to god you don't have someone dumping at your bank. Luckily, the ladies at my credit union like me and give me scouting reports. Bath & Body Works Pocket Anti-Bac smelly things go a long way....

I always ask how long it takes them to fill the bag. If they say at least once a week then most likely a dumping ground.

I've been getting rather anxious as my credit union used to have $500 per week for me, but lately they haven't. With your logic, which I agree with, that anxiety just vanished. I was looking for quantity, but I'll be fine with waiting for quality. :)

Exactly. I have to take a different approach as the quantity thing seemed to be working for a while, but with getting solid 2011 boxes in past 2 weeks of pick up and regular finds dropping dramatically, it seemed going a different route was in order. I have located 1 bank so far that will sell them to me every week and I know they are not a dumping ground. Hoping to get several different banks on my list and do away with ordering boxes all together.

Ive been doing bags for a year now. $1000 a bag. dimes average 8. I just started quarters. so far 2 per bag of a thousand dollars.
