So today we had an extra digging day. We stayed close to the village as there is an ancient spring in the lower field so wanted to give it a try. First out for me a beautiful livery button 😍 . The signals were thick and fast today! Got an amazing mix of buttons, crotal bells, a Brightside Co operative token, chunky buckle, spoon, spindle weight, and the tiniest lead roll… that took some finding 😂 . We also got some coins… himself is working On the I’d. So will update, when he lets me know. I found 4, but I think he beat me on having the oldest!

We stopped at 11 and stood silently listening the the village church bells ringing for the Queens funeral. 🥲

Also picture of the old pump and a view across the vale 😍xx

Those 2 fishscale Crotal Bells are the earliest version produced (from memory). Good sign for a hammered.

We too heard the local bells at 11:00.

Did you forget to post the coins pictures?
Also, "tiniest lead roll that was hard to find"? Do you have a pinpointer? It will speed up recovery time so you can dig more targets.

No, he Has the coins, so will have to wait to get pictures, will add them to the post later this week. Yes have a pin pointer, but it was still hard to find amongst the clods of earth! 😊

Well today certainly made up for yesterday in many ways. Congrats
Well done on the 2 fish scale crotal bells :headbang:(Never did dig one)
Can you make out the scroll below the crown on the silver washed button?
Waiting also for the coin pictures.
Nice pump picture

You did very, very well. I sat on the couch here in the USA and watched the entire funeral.

Excellent! Thanks for sharing 👍

Real nice finds again. I can hardly imagine what hunting an area with such a long history would be like. Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely beautiful view of the vale! Congrats on all the finds for you and himself. I love the crotal bells! I know, I say that every time! LOL. It would be so cool to find and hold any of those old coins.
