Detector(s) used
Tesoro Silver UMax , Bounty Hunter Quick Draw 2
Went out to the ball park today and did some metal detecting with a Bounty Hunter Quick Draw 2 . Nothing special but I got $ 3.10 in clad ( 8 -quarters , 9 dimes and 20 pennies ) . Looking to get another detector soon. Any thoughts on the Fisher F4 or Ace 250 ?

I say get the Ace!!! Great machine, super easy to use.

I haven't heard a legitimate negative review about the ACE 250 yet. Best bang for the buck unless you, anyway...I own two ace 250's and the wife lays claim while I have made happy w/ a minelab xterra 70.
well worth the money and more reliable than a b.h. in my humble opinion. I got a link to a site that sells 'em new for $188 delivered. If yer interested let me know. I got my second one there ( a marine supply shop) and the transaction was perfect.

Good hunt. I have had many days without pulling a $1.

Great digs! Considering how good of a day you had, don't you think you should stick with the Quick DrawII? You won't be gaining much by going with an F4 or Ace250. Give it some time and enjoy it. Too many folks out there knock the Bounty Hunters but hey, not everyone can go out and buy a high-end White's or Minelab, etc., etc.
Check out some of Montana Jim's finds - he swears by his Bounty Hunters. As long as your digging - it's working. I'm still in the "getting to know you" stage with my Quick Draw II and while I have gotten frustrated at times - it has mainly been because I was impatient. Everyday I go out I learn more and more and eventually it will pay off. Give it a shot - save your money and buy the four inch coil (it's only 30 bucks!) and see what that does for you. I'd be happy as horse-s*#$ to dig three bucks in clad. Keep on truckin'... DD-777

Treasurefiend ,

I just wanted to say I really enjoy your YouTube videos . How much difference is there between the Garrett and Minelab?

I'm not down grading the Quick Draw 2 at all. It's a nice machine and I think I've found $ 23.35 worth of coins with it since April. I just would like to find another detector that will find coins a little deeper. I bought my daughter a Bounty Hunter Elite 2200 and hate the thing. It has great swing weight for her . But it's the worst machine I've used to pinpoint something.

How good is the pinpointing on the ACE 250 ? Also is anyone using the larger coils ?

ace250
im 13 and its great for me.
if i can eisly find stuff everythime so can u. :D

Finding a couple bucks in clad IS cool, but some people eventually want more out of a detector, i.e. better depth, better target response, target separation, etc etc etc...

I have never used a Fisher F4, but I have used the Ace 250 extensively, and while I don't really use it much anymore, I will always go back to it if and when I get the mood to hunt tot lots or the beach. I find that it is superior to my M6 at tot lots, period. However, I, like many others, tire of looking for clad here and there, and I'm mostly looking for silver and other earlier coins.

So yeah, I'd recommend the Ace 250, it is awesome and very rugged. Mine was banged around for a few years and still gets banged around in my trunk, and still works like a champ.

BTW...I'm going to guess TreasureFiend's answer will be Minelab...
