Looks like someone needed a weight for something and pounded up a bunch of scrap lead.

It looks like a weight was fashioned by melting/or pounding the lead into a ball and punching a hole in the center. This definitely had a purpose to whoever created this piece. I think most likely this was used as a fishing weight. Good find.:icon_thumright:

I hadn't thought about pieces of lead being pounded together.

What strikes me most about this is how white the lead has become. It takes a really long time for lead to turn that white!
