Hi All,

I found this years ago, detecting a burned-out house site (you can see charred wood in the socket).

It’s obviously a ball and claw-type foot or leg for something, but what? It’s approximately 4” tall with a worn flat spot on the ball. In one image I’m holding it with the worn spot flat on the table surface. At this angle, a tripod or whatever would be pretty short – about 10” at the most.

Any ideas out there? I did some basic searching on the web and didn’t find anything that matched closely. I’m guessing some of the antique and relic experts here might have seen something like this.

I knew I'd seen the same thing someplace, but couldn't place it. Great ID. I remember in the fog of memories from long ago, it was either a table or bench at a relatives house.

I was actually thinking along the lines of a D&Ders set, some of them like to have life sized replicas such as sword and armor. I was thinking maybe the tip of a mages staff of power...lol
