Saw 3 Eagles then 1 flew away. One is different than the typical Bald Eagle.
Not sure if it's molting, old, or an old Golden Eagle.
The Coyotes did a kill last night, and the Eagles are having a great feed this morning.

They probably spent a good hour feeding on the carcass.

A photos are a tad grainy as it's 2450 ft away and was taken from inside the house.

Nice photos. I wonder why the coyotes are not feeding on their kill?
Thanks Newman

They probably had their fill in the cover of darkness. Probably they'll return after dark tonight.
The Max was upset last night a few times, he probably heard the Coyotes.
He caught scent last night going out for a walk. Went totally guard dog, climbed the large snow bank, and barked in that direction.

Possibly a juvenile? We saw one yesterday that looked a bit strange, but the ranger said that it was just a juvenile, that they don't really get their full distinctive white coloration until they are fully mature adults.

That's probably it then, just a juvenile. The adult put it in its place a few times.

Yes, Juvenile Bald Eagle.
Thank you for the clear definition on what the difference is between the growth stages.

I was entertaining a hike over to the point in the early morning, but slogging through the foot+ of snow has its limits.
