Howdy all, i found this bakelite box at a local thrift shop. Does anybody know what it was for? I was thinking sewing machine accessories? Thanks Steve

Vintage Welch Allyn Ophthalmoscope Otoscope w Bakelite Case - Antiques
This is a Vintage Welch Allyn Ophthalmoscope and Otoscope with a bakelite case which came out of a recent estate and it is in good looking and in working condition. It is made by Welch Allyn of New York. One of the heads has a patent number which corresponds with the year 1936, is in good condition given that it has been around for the better part of a century and it uses and comes with standard C cell batteries. Furthermore it comes with a highly stylized art deco bakelite case with no knicks, chips or dents. This is great if you need one of the most highly recognized names in the medical field whether you add it to your collection, use it for display and/or place it back in service. It measures 2"x3-1/2"x8-1/2" and weighs 3 pounds.
