There is an old wreck off Baileys Bluff in New Port Richey that everybody knows about. It is thought to be a Spanish galleon but recent news makes me wonder. I recently heard that a treasure hunter found a chest buried only one foot deep on the bluff. It was covered in tar and wrapped with canvas, probably sail cloth. Inside were gold coins (Idon't know what kind) and Dutch documents, perfectly preserved! I checked the VOC website but they don't list any VOC ships lost in Florida. They also didn't list the Endracht, lost in 1624 off Ft. Myers. Does anyone have any more info on the Baileys Bluff wreck?
