The plan was to get out early & beat the worst of the sun & complete Bag Seal City.
It took us 2 hrs 45 mins to complete the barley stubble site getting:
11 Roman Bronzes (1 OK example)
WWI Victory Medal
Roman Silver clipped Siliqua of Honorius

After lunch I wanted to spend a little time on the edge of the Field of 500 (our best Roman Site), because it was deep ploughed last year & this edge was unworkable. Spent only 1 hr 45 minutes & had:
20 Roman Bronze Coins (1 OK example)
Hammered Lizzy 3 Pence 1575

Strange story - In the middle of the week I got chatting to the grave digger who prepared the ground ready for the interment of my Nan. He over heard us & it turns out he metal detects (I think we blow him away a little with our stories, and he showed us his first Roman Brooch, which I then IDed as Celtic). He showed me a couple of pictures; a medieval seal, Lizzy 6 Pence, & a WWI Medal. I stated the medal was a good find & Dad & I had never had one. Until my very next trip today!:laughing7: (although his was the silver medal of the set)

Now reached 60 Hammered for the year, which was the target. So a little time to spare.....

Another very productive hunt, congrats! :occasion14:

Because of the buttons, I guess the areas are very contaminated!

lenmac65 hit it on the head. Grats again and as always thanks for sharing.

Silver streak starts again! I wonder about the amount of Siliquas you dig. It seems they are harder to get here.

Yeap. 1 gap day, then 2 in a row, then just got another gap.
This year has been good for silvers!
