Badge...?

I was showing my cousin how to use the detector today in my yard. After finding a bunch of junk i let him try it out. About 20 minutes later he comes in with this badge looking thing...It's got a name on the top a umber 8 in the middle and then the town on the bottom.. Any ideas what it could be..?

looks like it could be a watch fob or maybe some type of baggage tag??

saw a fob like that used by hotels on their room keys. local guy here found one back in the early nineties shaped like that with on old hotels name and a room number. that seems to be a very common shaped blank used by many railroads for baggage tags as well as watch fobs.
