✅ SOLVED badge or hatpin of some sort

Could someone please tell me anything about this. It was found on a beach in New Zealand and from what research i have tried to do on it I thenk the VR stands for Voluntary reserves. But that is about as good a guess that i can get. I am sure there are people on here who will know what this is by the attachments on the back. Any help is appreciated.

I have tried to find similar items on google but keep on coming up blank.

The attachments on the back make it look like half of a sash buckle.

The VR in this case is for Victoria Regina (Queen Victoria), who was reigning at the time this was used.

When Queen Victoria turned 60 they had a huge celebration for her and lot of hat pins,badges,etc were made.. I'm assuming this was one of them.. Good luck with the ID

Kia ora Mate. I suggest it is celebrating Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, 60 years anniversary of her Coronation, which will date it to
1897. A very cool find, especially where it was found!
