Found on an interesting hill. I got about 20 old buttons (early 1800s), part of a musket pistol, a buckle which I was told is probably a war of 1812 sling buckle, 2 large cents one is 1800 the other is around the same year, cast iron pot fragments, a zouave button, a few other things. I don't know what the items are in the pictures. Any info would be much appreciated. The first object may be part of an old door knob system. Not sure about the next piece. The brass piece looks like a box latch. The badge looking thing is at the end.

#4 is just a galvanized nut for a screw. Probably one for a molding or bracket. #1 looks like a plate escutcheon for a carriage bolt.

Not sure why you think #4 is a galvanized nut. I'm not seeing it. Please point it out.

Those types of nuts are very application specific. The center where the screw goes is based on the size of the screw, but are fairly standard. The size and shape of the nut itself can be anywhere on the map. He's a link to something similar but for another application. The screw goes through the center just like yours. \

cudamark : I see what you are talking about now. Thanks for showing the link. It seems kind of flimsy however. The center almost seems like a spring and would not hold a screw well, unless the spring needed to stay loose around the spring. Idk but its beginning to become a really interesting piece. Its to bad there are no markings or numbers on it.
