Badge I.D. help

Found this today about 6 in. down. It's a badge that says American Indemnity. It has 2 holes where it looks where there was a pin so it could be worn. It appears to be copper from looking at the back. A Google search yielded some info but not much about the possible rarity. Any extra info will sure be appreciated.

Quicksilver is absolutely correct. The figure in the center is the Triple-A Logo.

Attached to early cars? Homes? I don't know... But it is insurance-related for sure.

Sure is rare. Must not be to many of these particular badges out there. Couldn't find any web pictures of it.
