Bad day in TN.

At least your not digging trash.Keep at it,if you find the camp and it hasn't been detected before (maybe even if it has)you could find some real good relics.Have you a map of the campsite then?If so superimpose it on top of a modern map of the same scale, might help to narrow down your search area.If you don't have a map of the actual campsite,PM me.I have access to quite a large number of civil war camps, battle and troop movements etc..I might be able to help with your area.Welcome to the forum and good luck in your search for the camp.Keep us posted!

Keep lookin Jim! It's there somewhere!

Good Luck!!

;)

Jim,
Hey, better luck next time.

I live in Kingston, Tn, we live in a great place for relic hunting.

Did you know that DeSoto came through our area in the 1500's. Yeh, right through Loudon, Cleveland, Chattnooga, and on to Memphis where he died on the banks of the Mississippi waiting on boats to be built to cross the river. There's alot of speculation bout DeSoto and if he had gold with him, supposedly the Cherokee's took his gold and buried it somewhere in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains.

If there's a CW camp on that ridge somewhere I'm sure you'll find it ....may take some time but keep on diggin',don't give up.HH!!

One of my most promising sites has turned up nothing of value, so I know the feeling. I still think it's there but like you I just haven't been able to pin it down yet. Keep plugging away, no pun intended. Well, yes, there was, I cannot tell a lie! ;) Monty

I have a sweet site that I go back to over & over, & I have yet to dig a keeper anything. Just a truck load of trash. It is an 1860's home site. I know that I have to be a winner some time so I keep going back.

By the way, batteries help! HA, HA!

Just call it a test run, you'll have better luck with each passing swing next time.
