Bacon and Beans from a Gold Pan, by Jesse Coffey & George Hoeper, is a great little book about a young married couple hit with hard times in 1933, packed up their old car and headed to the hills.

The only problem with the book, is you can read it too quickly. Also it is a little pricey, I found one for 15 bucks, but most were $25 or more.

It is a great, true, gold mining story, and I highly recommend it.:icon_thumright:

Yep, I remember that being an authentic account useful to panners in the Sierras. Not worth that price as prospecting has changed
so much. I got a copy from the library 20 years ago.
