Backyard what is it coin

found in Attleboro Massachusetts
Coin is just slightly larger than a penny. Has a 5 point star on one side which looks like it has a #6 or #9 in center. Reverse side looks like a circle pattern made from links or leaves of sorts.
I'm guessing copper.

Very cool find!! I wonder if you could clean it up with electrolysis? Im not sure on copper coins. One of these are on my bucket list Congrats!
