The matching buttons shown left and right in the top row depict the Roman goddess of war, Minerva, who is often shown wearing a helmet. Usually, there is a dragon atop the helmet, as in this case, although some are so stylized that you really can't tell what they are. Here's a link to a page of other Minerva buttons:

A button bearing the same central design as the mesh one, but with a different border and struck in solid brass, is listed in Hughes & Lester's buttons book, and the pattern is described as, "Shield, Battle Trophies and Crown."

The mesh one is concave and had rhinestones.. The Minerva buttons are flat, and seems to be a different type metal around the border instead of rhinestones and I found another today!!! That makes 3.. I have permission from the church that borders my backyard and it has a small sledding hill on it..Thats where I found all of them at the bottom of the hill.. Must of been some cold kids!! Also the grade school borders it, and both it and the church are on the 1890's maps... The silver one is modern and says head light on its face..Thanks for the info...
