Not exactly today finds, these were all found in my 3 trips to the back yard(wife wont let me dig anymore due to brown "crop circles). The 55 rosie was my very first find. the wheats are 19x3, 27d, 37x2,40d, 46, 51x2, 53dx2, nickels 58d, 41, and 45p war nickel. Token at the top is a 5 cent in trade slot machine token from the 20's-40's (or so im told) HH JJ

Yes dry season in your area too? A good way to avoid the "crop circles" is to dig neat plugs which you put back into the ground as you dug them. I haven't gotten to dig lately due to the sole fact that it hasn't rained in this area very much at all in the last few months. I made a few crop circles when I first started too. Not very many anymore though. Practice makes perfect my friend. Good find on the 55 rosie in your own yard! Never found any silver on any of my properties.

HH dude!

AWWW....and it sounds like you had a really great time too....with all those neat finds...Well....won't be long and fall will be here....no grass=no crop circles! ;D

Nana ;)

maybe if you brought some water and miracle grow out there she might let you resume the hunt. congrats and hh

I have found out that the less roots that you disturb, the better it is for the crop circles........I use a (post spade shovel) and dig a hole about 6 to 8 across and about 4 inches deep . Just flip it over and your coin will be in the hole or in the plug. That way you just put the plug back intact and you should have not problem! If it dug with some care and in a complete circle you wont even see the hole when your done............... Nice job on the finds and good luck in the future!

Welcome to TreasureNet, Pizzaman. We all know what you mean by the crop circles.....It doesn't take long for them to dissappear.

Take Seeker's good advice, and she should be happy with you. ;)

Thanks,
It's been so darn dry here i would have to water every day to try and hide the "crop circles", so im better off leaving the yard alone. I returned a US military pin to our land lords, that i also found in the yard. They were very excited, think it may have belonged to her dad from WWII. They also told me of a family legend that a family member buried his lifes savings(wife still wont let me dig). >:(
HH and thanks for reading JJ

My father and I have found that a carpet knife works very well for cutting a plug out of the ground. And its small enough you can carry it anywhere. Nice finds! Keep searching!

I've probably dug a hundred holes in my backyard but it's been so wet here that you would be hard pressed to find one "crop circel". It has been the wettest summer in 40 years here...
