Went tot get out to my new cellar and the business i park at to sneak in was open today so i went to a back up site
2thumbsup.gif

On the way there i noticed a section of woods with a quarry so i popped in to see what was going on there
and between the trees i see this giant stone and iron structure..It looked kind of creepy out there peeking in the trees
devil.gif

It was a huge limestone kiln from the 1800's..What a cool looking structure it was.So off to my next site..
Got there only to notice giant dig holes left wide open that really rips me man
sf-yell.gif

It was an early cellar and i dug my butt off only to reel in a bunch of relics..I thought i could squeak at least one coin out of there

Maybe my point will make banner like COUNTRYMUSICNUT'S...
rofl.gif

But i had fun did some digging and got some hiking in...I also took a picture of a cellar hole hunters closest companion those weird spiders that make webs between the trees..Man i must walk into 50 a day..

Have fun out there:hello:

Nice finds Blaze! You always find the most interesting structures man. And those damn spider webs drive me crazy. Not a fan at all. I once woke up with a spider crawling in my mouth. I'd rather fight a lion lol

Shoulder belt plate or trunk plate?

Great pics. Nice relics. I've dug a couple plates like that, not sure what they are. HH!

Back when I used to only hike in the mountains, I'd carry a staff just to break those spiderwebs. I hate 'em too! I am really liking that old kiln. Awesome structure, John! I guess my favorite find is that point. What a dangerous looking thing!

And nice relics they are JB!! Is the shield brass relic a saddle ornament? I thought of you yesterday JB when I spied a yellow jacket nest in my lawn. They got a nice wetting with Coleman lantern fluid last night. WTG my friend, Q.

The last picture you posted, any idea what that might be? I found something very similar to it in my back yard but it was broken in half, I found the base of it. Mine was very heavy for its size and lookes like it might have been painted silver. It had a three digit nimber on the bottom but I don't recall what it was.

Just curious.

Great finds JB. I hate it when people leave their holes open too. Even if a site i'm hunting is in the woods I always make sure the ground is level after I dig something.. I never leave a hole or a divot. I think its tasteless to just leave a bunch of holes in the ground, even if its deep in the woods.

Nice finds, but what I really like is the location. It's pretty cool just happening onto old sites like that.

More great finds as usual!

I'm incredibly jealous that you have sites like that. How awesome is that tower thing?!

Anybody know what this thing is??

I was thinking an early drill or something???
