Got out to a early Colonial cellar on the Reservoir i found last year :icon_thumleft:

Never been hunted before i have pulled some killer finds here last year.I would say my second
favorite site of 2011..

I went for about 3 hours on friday and 4 today..Its really my start of 2012 :D

Got some good colonials moving trees and digging iffy signals

My favorite thing to find is the decorative buttons and i pulled a couple

What looks to be a part to a Musket :dontknow:

Nice colonial handle i think is silver :icon_scratch:

Check em out :coffee2:

Keep the passion high

Blaze

Those are some beautiful buttons with great patinas J.B. I believe I'd make a return trip there. WTG, Quindy.

good looking spot johnny!! :icon_sunny: must of been a great day to get out today. i had car work. i like buttons too. nice pics. willy

Really neat to see the country you guys hunt!!Great finds too!!

Great finds man ! Though it may well be silver, I believe your spoon handle is mid 19th
century at the earliest - looks to be pressed in a rolling mill , or cast - rather than hand forged
as the colonial spoons were. Argentium.

nice stuff JB! plenty of room to swing there!

Good stuff there JB, nice dandy's.
Get back out there and find some more

Great digs Blaze! Love that button. That is a cool cellar hole and a beautiful site. HGD is right, that cellar may worth digging and screening. Who knows what was in that house when it rotted and collapsed into the foundation? Probably all kinds of coins and buttons wedged in the cracks along the walls and under the floorboards. Probably be a tough job though with all those trees growing in the foundation.

Now this is a great post Johnny, lots of pics and great finds! :hello2:
That silver spoon handle looks pretty old too!

I like this picture of the rock wall, have you hunted along this area yet? :icon_scratch:
Best of luck to you man,
Dave

Nice finds - have you dug the cellar out yet?

The problem with these big chimney cellars is the chimneys almost always collapse inside the cellar filling it with rocks :-\

This one is bad

Well heck if you're already moving the trees.. :laughing7:

Nice finds and great spot.

Your spoon is certainly pewter and not silver. I can see the iron pin that they put in the handles of them to strengthen them and keep them from breaking. That in and of itself is a great find, because it is high-grade pewter and in flawless condition. Most I find are crumbling away, and broken.

Great Hunt!
