hey everyone,
got back to the cellar hole on Saturday with jer. i missed the day that he got those large cents. had a pretty good weekend. when we first got there we both dug a flat button at the same time within about 10 Min's. soon after that i dug a small dome button. don't know much about it but its a nice one in bad condition. the front has the two lions raised up on the shield in the middle with a reef going around each side and it has the letters N.C. at the bottom and the back marking is Philadelphia Horstman co. i found a pic of it on-line but it was an out dated one and it didn't give a value for it. if anyone knows about it let me know it would be helpful. i found a small flat button but the back has corrosion on it. and i found a piece of a flat button that looks like it was used for a tool or they tried to pass it off as a piece of a coin. i also found a nice suspender clip that says sterling but i guess its just plated cause it wore off in some places. the charm with the boyscout symbol is a locket that i found there that day also that is one of the nicer finds from the hunt and the round thing that looks like a lipstick tube is an old tire pressure gage with 4 pat. dates from 1909 to 1922 that also was a unusual find that i liked from the hunt.

our friend chuck also came along but he roamed off and didn't follow directions and got lost for most of the hunt... other than that it was a great hunt and i think we will go back a couple more times if the weather cooperates.

HH everyone and take it easy... Lance

Nice stuff Lance! I found a similar tire gauge last summer, made by Schrader as well. Yours looks older though. HH!

Neat finds Lance!

Really like the locket! Did you open it yet!

;)

thanks guys and gal,
the pressure gage was a nice find i think. just a piece of the history of the automobile and a find you don't make everytime you go out.

i did open the locket but there were only tiny pieces of what appeared to be a picture... it was just deteriorated.

Take it easy

i didnt know if the ford cap was really worth anything but i knew it was an oldie. wish it wasnt so banged up.

there is an old wagon trail trough the site thats a little grown in and i found the ford cap just a few feet off of it...
