FISHER F75 / TESORO SAND SHARK / CZ 21
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
Went for a a hunt today to see if anything else popped out for buttons.

Took my Sand Shark this time.... definitely better than he F75 in the salt....

Found lotsa targets in places that we went over with the F75s...just so much noise with the F75 in salt that you miss a lot of stuff.

Need to cancel out the salt..the F75 will work but its so aggrevaiting all the noise.

Got to be some good stuff amongst all them musket balls...crazy amount of them around.

Any idea what the coin is ?

It's a British King George II Halfpenny (1740-1754)

Too bad there wasn't less musket balls and more buttons!

It looks like a 3 at the end of the date... so if you can read the bust side... Georgius (1743) Georgivs (1753)

So is it a field right above where you're digging? If so, I bet you'll have a great site come Spring! I've had sites that gave up one RP, and one that had about a dozen, so you never know how it will turn out. But like I said in a previous post RP buttons are a good find, but they're a great indication of potential. Where they turn up there's often George coppers (you've proved that today) and Spanish silver, jews harps, and decent gun parts... but there's also the very good possibility of better buttons, or even a belt plate! (depending on what type, could be worth thousands) I have many sites that I've dug at least one RP at and they all have something in common.... they were all great sites! Hopefully you''e only detecting the tip of the iceberg and the rest will come in the Spring. Those finds are coming from somewhere, just a matter of figuring out where. An RP is probably my favorite indicator that I don't consider a great find, but that's only because I've dug quite a few. But with that said, they probably get me fired up more than some things which I would consider a little better, because I know I'm on a Loyalist site and know what can happen. I think you will have an interesting Spring.... and that's after what's turning out to be an interesting Winter.

Very cool finds, the musket balls look like a glass full of Cocoa Puffs, ha lol

Keep clearing that site of EVERY signal!

TYTY .. for the info..

Now you got me more excited than ever--lol.. seems maybe there is a crap load of possibilities.

One thing maybe you can help me with...

We found 4 or 5 signals...deep.... dug down 12 inches.. and the detector is ringing out load and clear on high numbers.

But the hole fills up water and can,t get at whatever it is....and its kinda hard digging after get down that far....can,t keep the water out.

What could it be--they are in scattered locations.

You have to see, they could very easily be cannonballs at a place like that. Use a good shovel and just set your detector aside and go at it. When you are finding the kind of stuff you are you can't leave solid deep hits behind.

ok cool...I was thinking prolly cannonballs as they would have the velocity to hit and go deep...but they are ringing in at 70-75.

If was hot rocks---which there are plenty...they ring in at 95-99

But,.... the 3 cannonballs i dug on land rang in 17-23....

Is it different in a salt location ???

Can't help you there because all mine were on land, and don't look at digital readings on my detector. Whether they are cannonballs or not, you can't leave sounds like that behind without making a better effort. It could also be large pieces of an iron pot, or some other type of junk, but you still have to see.

Awesome stuff buddy. That is a killer spot you have there. That place could keep you busy for a while
