granthansen and I returned to the 7-acre property in Mt. Holly for the 3rd time this Sunday. We concentrated on an adjacent front lawn that abuts some RR tracks. Much junk was turning up seemingly because it was a high-traffice area, but we managed a few notables. A more detailed account will be posted later at our site (see banner below).

Grant had a fabulous and potentially valuable find (see here) that he is researching. My finds included a vintage floral circular case (any ideas? I will post to What is it?), a Westmore Hollywood compact case cover, an 1874 indian, eagle button (army general issue, post-1904), some clad, a flatty, and some other misc. pouch-fillers. Enjoy & HH.

Mt holly VT?

As NJLargeCent said, there was a LOT of junk. After a few hours I switched to just coins mode and still had digs every few feet. Great finds my man!

Looks like you guys found a great site. Seven acres is pretty big-looking forward to seeing what else you dig up there.

The round thing looks like a makeup compact-the circular rings on the bottom are common. Going searching now......

You folks ought to come to the SJMDC meeting in Haddon Heights this week.

It is Thursday at 7pm at Haddon Heights Municipal Building, 625 Station Ave, Haddon Height NJ.

See you there!

Thanks for the invite! I'm way up in North Jersey, so it'd be a bit too much of a ride for me on a "school night." NJLargeCent is much closer, but i think he's slammed on a project this week... I'll let him respond though.

I see you guys (granthansen/NJLargeCent) are using an Ace and an AT Pro. I used an Ace for 6 months then upgraded to an AT Pro for a year and finally to an Etrac. I briefly used a Fisher F2 in there as well. I have only good things to say about each machine but they all do different things.

I have a civil war era church in Philly that I have hit several times with each machine. Each time I returned with my new machine, I pulled out more and more targets. However, I hit the spot particularly hard with my AT Pro. When I went there a month or so ago, I took my Etrac. This time it was different. I was cleaning up, as if I had never even been there before. I was digging coins right under/next to nails. I ended up pulling a Barber dime from 6" out of a spot I had gone over several times before with the other machines. I left that day with dozens of coins (half being wheaties). Just goes to show that if you have a good site, think of what you might be missing and consider heading back there someday with a high end machine.

Jersey Ben, great story. As for a better machine, my 350 has been performing really well. I'd say I ignore more than it misses. I tried my Fisher CZ21 on the property but I admit I'm new to it and wasn't comfortable with the ground balance and tones. We will definitely be back to the property. Much more area to hit!
