D-Dub and I went back to the grove where I found my seated dime last week. The hombres were boozin' it up where we wanted to detect, but I had found on an old map that there used to be 2 old baseball diamonds there, that are now overgrown by woods. Was EXTREMELY trashy, that D-dub didn't even have the patience to detect where I was detecting.
My first target of the day was the silver bulldog that rang up as a deep modern penny. I thought it was going to be an IH @ about 8".
Next target was the '41 Merc at about 6", and not even two mins later the '30 Merc at about 3". Both of the Mercs came in a solid 12-45. Knew for sure they were silver dimes.
About half an hour later, I got a faint, deep chirp reading 12-42/43 @ about 7 or 8". Thought for sure it was going to be a wheatie.......1903 Barber Dime to my surprise! (Just like your Barber Neil)
Last signal was the '47 Rosie, and that came in at 12-45/46/47. It was jumping around, I think it was on edge @ about 6".
Also got 9 wheaties for the day. Oldest being 1919-s and '27-s. Others are '41x2, '44x3, 56-d, & No date. All in all it was a great day. Just wish I could've found these dimes the same day as my seated, and then I would've had my dime grand slam.
Sorry about the bad pics. It's late and I have no natural light or strong lights at the house.
