Detector(s) used
Started with a Minelab xterra 505. Then Equinox 600 with stock coil, xl coil and sinper coil depending on circumstances. Now use a manticore.
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
Amazing what time to yourself can do for hunting a location. Swept the area with my stock coil and got the merc and what I think is an Indian. Very crunchy. Met a newer detectorist who was walking his dogs in the park who thinks it's an ihp as well. Went back to elliptical coil and worked an area I never did. Got the musket ball, hunk of lead that could have been a bullet, those washer things I cant id, the bridge token and nice belt buckle. For now I'm done with this park. The garbage dump creek I know and an abandoned colonial site taken over by woods are next. My detecting friend dug 3 holes at the colonial site as a test on his way home. 2 were junk one was a kg2. Good sign.

I agree, I totally enjoy hunting by myself. Great finds- Congrats!

Most of my detecting over the last 48+ years has been by myself! Nice finds, RBD! Thanks for sharing.

Good work I hope someday to find a musket ball also

@billb the only reason I found the musket ball was a chance encounter with a biker couple who stopped in after they saw me detecting there and said they had found musket balls near the pin trees. Looks like I have the next two sundays free to hunt. One will be dump creek one will be colonial site. Depends on weather.

Congrats on the finds !
And yes I agree - I do at least 95% of my hunts alone.
A couple of hours of really focused hunting is like a mini vacation !

A very productive hunt. I found years ago a bridge token that had imprinted on it "good for one foot passage.

Looks like a great day our detecting! Can't beat silver and indian head pennies! :icon_thumright:

Nice solo hunt...that's the best way to unwind in my book!

It was nice. Was getting out of park right as people started showing up and making it difficult. Got an id on the token and buckle. Token unfortunately isn't any older than 1970 unfortunately. Still I've never dug one. Buckle is a 1920s pioneer suspender company of Philadelphia monogram buckle. It's starting to clean up. Some gold plating left on the back of it.
