I went back to the camp again this morning and met up with TreasureFiend. No more Barber dimes found today, but I scored a '43 merc and a '26 merc, 1940 wheat cent, and three clad Jeffersons, 1941, 1948, 1951. It's nice when every single coin you find in one day is old. Also conjured from the depths of the wilderness was about a pound of foil (or at least it seems...), even more eating utensils, and nails, etc. As fun as it was, I'm beat and the camp will have to wait at least another week. This detectorist is exhausted. Here are the two mercs for your viewing pleasure. Have a great weekend guys!

Well the place produces more wilvers. I managed to get 2 silver war nickels, both from the year 1945 with P & S mintmarks + a 1937 wheatie + another 1911 BSA "Be Prepaired" button, a pistol slug, harmonica reed, + the usual flatware, foil, nails, ect. :icon_pirat:

LOL - I was getting an iffy nickel signal down like 6 inches, I started to dig my plug and I noticed I hit glass. I got some dirt out of the hole and see a jar, I started to dig the dirt away, also telling Twistidd to come take a look. Well he looks and says that there is at least 2 bottles down there. I was hoping I found my first cache. But when I got the bottles out, they were empty, but they still had their lids on them. So no luck for me... Once the bottels were out of the hole, I still got a bouncy nickel signal. Well I dug down like 3 inches deeper. I wound up finding another silver plated fork. I swear those kids just ate and buried the flatware in the woods!!! LOL

Joe called me over to look at something, well what he found was a surface find. A old Jefferson Nickel was forced to the surface by the roots of a huge tree. It was cool to see it just partialy sticking out of the ground. Underneath the nickel was all huge solid roots, Im suprised that the roots didn't envelope the darn thing.
