Rain ended yesterday afternoon here. After arguing with myself this morning on whether to go today or not, cause of the tide being normal if not a little high.I finally throwed caution to the wind and went about my way.Tide was high but still came up with a couple of good finds.First is a 1777 or 1779 not to sure milled 1 real mexico mint Charles III ff assayers, second is a nice little point, also found bessy's bell :laughing9:, ax head, two old spikes, and a array of the norm!
enjoy,Timekiller :hello:

Anything 1700's is on my list of finds. Nice job...jgas

Timekiller,
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't that make one cob real, two milled reales, a 1700 English mallet black glass wine/rum bottle, and a spear point all found in just under two weeks? You are on a roll! Doesn't seem like the high tides have been hindering you too much. I too wonder what lies beneath the tide. It's bound to blow southwest sooner or later.

lol (like you need it)

Thats right riverdolphin been on a little streak of luck lately! But the bottle still takes the cake in my book!Still gets me every time I walk by it's knew home (my display case)! :laughing7: Just think of the stories that bottle could tell, and years it's spent laying around in the condition it was in the day it was made, waiting their just for me :laughing9:.
But seriously I,ve took it to the history place here in Morehead, and the manager had never seen one or nothing like it,refered me to maybe ECU college or some were in Raleigh, also took it to the maritime museum but their cordinator was not in this week, probably take it back to them. They deal with alot of shipwreck stuff black beard's queen anns revenge. They may can tell me how rare it is.I think it would have to be more likely to be found on wrecks.I could be wrong, but dought very many have came from land finds like this one(shoreline), here in U.S.A.
Thanks,Riverdolphin

Timekiller, I know someone who has hunted old bottles for the past 10 years religiously and has never found one of those bottles. I'm sure it is rare to find them in that good of condition. I myself have found pieces of the bottoms of some but never anything close to the whole bottle. The lip of the bottle is a little different than anything I can find on the internet that resembles the rest of the bottle. I must say though the bottle is probably worth more, I like the cob real. That also has stories to tell.
