OK, I'm editing this post since I typed something about these finds, but it never made it to the original post...(?)

All of the finds were found in upstate New York (yes, about 8 miles NE of Dannemora!). Had no Wi-Fi for several days this weekend, but couldn't wait to post the finds when I got to "Wi-Fi country" and ask some questions. The top two row of finds were found underwater in Lake Champlain (3-5 feet); lots of work in cold water. The bottom rows of finds were dug in front of an old house located ~ 200 yards inland. The sites saw heavy Rev War and War of 1812 activity. Questions...

- what military branch is the cockade from? I believe it's missing a piece underneath (maybe a rectangle shape). It rang up as a 52-54 on the AT Pro (nickel range) and I believe it's pewter.

- I know the button is Light Artillery, 1st Regiment; but what does the small "D" stand for...dragoons?

- what is the "Mother-of-Pearl" piece? It looks like a cufflink or tie pin for a tuxedo. I date it to late 19th century.

Thank, and apologies for the original missing text.

Great finds sir!!! The LA button is a superb find, but the cockade takes the cake for me!!! Definitely a militia veteran lived at that site... HH!

That light artillery button is sweet. Great finds. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, just wow. Nice finds.

AJAJ THAT IS A NICE GROUP OF RELICS THAT YOU HAVE THERE. THE EAGLE AND THE DRAGOON BUTTON REALLY STAND OUT. HAVE TO LOOK IN MY BOOK ABOUT THE BUCKLE TO SEE WHAT MIGHT BE MISSING.
