Found this and hit it with electrolysis. Looks like brass now that it is cleaned up a little. To me it looks like the back of an old pocket watch. What do you think?

Yes it does and quite well haha. I held my super magnet up and the thing flew outa my hand. That would of been my first find that caused bodily harm lol

Hmmmm I didn't think of that. Now I gotta know what this is. I thought I had it pegged as a pocket watch back and now you have me 2nd guessing myself haha.

Is it threaded? Is it beveled on the edge?

I can't tell because of the amount of rust on the back of it. I guess I will have to try to clean it up better tomorrow and repost pics if it cleans up any better. I hate not knowing what I have found. The edges are smooth, the front is smooth, I can see a brass/copper coating on it and it is cracked on the front. I can try to take better photos. I took those photos on my phone at work since I forgot my camera and was messing around with this item trying to ID it.

Likely bridle ornament, you'll get more of these.
Can't find a good image match, I believe it would go where the ornament is shown here.148498.jpg
