My XLT has been acting up for a few months now , finally Saturday before last I sent it to White,s for a check up . It was going crazy and beeping in midair . I finally got it back this morning and out the door I went . Theres a school that was built in 1921 across the county line close to where I grew up that I,ve had good luck at so far this year so I decided to test drive my detector there . Pulled up and the grass was knee high :dontknow: well , I was already there and it was 30 minutes back to town so I geared up and plunged into it with high hopes .
The first target was a deep memorial cent , 60,s something , but that was OK because my machine was working like new . I ended up hunting for three hours and was wringing sweat outta my shirt at the end . Total was a 67 and 69 memorial one clad dime , four wheats and ............ last target of the hunt ........... a 41 Merc :hello2: :hello2: :headbang: :laughing9:

I had basically the same problem with my White's Classic 5ID. First it was the coil; then with about 2 more hours use it started sputtering like crazy. I wasn't very pleased with White's telling me it was operator error, so I took it apart and did some re-soldering on the circuit board and connector terminals--works fine now.

WTG on the Merc, I see the visit to the doctor helped your White's and it is working just fine now ;D.

sounds like a good bill of health from the doctors to me :icon_thumright: wtg
