I got a quarter in my change the other day that I believe might be a silver proof coin from the look of it. Anyone know how to tell for sure?

I find that people tend to use coins grampa or grandma gave them and have no idea they have more value than face, especially in hard times.I used to get them when I worked in a mini-mart all the time.

if you get multiples- likely an old coin roll was cracked into in the vicinity ......a couple more might turn up as they circulate..

i think you go by the thumb rule ser if you can see the reflection of your thumb like a mirror, its a proof!!! thats what i do!!!!
