Today I did the honorable thing and took my hunting buddy to the old house where I found all of the old coins last weekend. Within the first hour I found two silver Washington quarters (from the same hole) early in the hunt, and he found a V nickle and two Indian Head Pennies. A little while later I found an 1897 V nickle (not in pics) and toward the end of out hunt I found a cool little shoe knife. The coolest part is having found more old coins than clad both in face value and count.

As we were about to leave a guy in a beautiful 1940 Ford Moonshine running car pulled up to chat. After seeing some of my finds he asked for my number. He said he might be able to get me on some local home sites that predate the civil war but are usually off limits due to being owned by some very wealthy friends of his. Hopefully things work out, only time will tell.

Incredible shoe knife. Love to have something like that.

found this on the net. Star brand shoes. On another site, another knife of the same brand but a different model (the Patriot) was said to be from 1900
