Back at Dad's House...

Well, it's been a while since I've posted my finds.? I've had some good ones.? I'll start listing them.? I've been using my new Garrett GTP 1350 for about a month or so now, and I'm loving it!? I've been to my dad's house several times, and also have tried out some places around my own house.? I've found about $5.00 in clad at a park near my house.? I've been going to the park hoping to find some old coins, because the park's main feature is a house that was built in 1860.? It has been a farm for all these years, and ten years ago was converted into a park.? Have only hit one old coin...a wheatie from the 40s.? I also found a really neat silver ring with hearts--my girlfriend has been wearing it, and it looks nice.? I also found a big, junk heart locket.? (Not to mention all sorts of trash).

Anyhoo...the reason I am posting this is because of the pendant that I found at my dad's house.? It was just outside his side door in a small strip of grass, about 4-5 inches down.? I took it in to a jeweler, and all he told me was that it was just made out of a base metal (used the sniff sniff method) and said the green piece in the middle was a piece of shaped glass.? Then he handed it back to me.? I think it is really old, but have no idea.? There are no markings on it of any sort.? I'm guessing the two little green stones are fake emeralds (since the one on the bottom is broken in half).? I wish there was some way to find out the age of it.? Anyone have any ideas?? Even if it is a cheap piece of costume jewelry, I still think it's a pretty cool find.

Thanks for lookin'!? HH!!

Michael

P.S.--Ocean7...I'm still after that old stuff!!!

Large stone looks like Amazonite. Very pretty material that is somewhat hard. 8)
