B&B Finds
We went north for a High School reunion and stayed at a B&B in Upstate New York. The home was built in the 1880's and has just recently been turned into a B&B. It's history was varied from, a rich persons country retreat, religious retreat, a school, and now a B&B. While eating breakfast the owner came over to chat. We spoke of hobbies and I mentioned Metal Detecting. He asked if I brought our detectors with us and of course I said, "yes". He said I was welcome to detect wherever I wanted. His only stipulation was that I show him what we had found.
He didn't have to tell us twice! We went to the car immediately and headed to the woods around the house. I hit silver right away with a quarter and a dime. The rest came later in the day. Not a 'real haul' but exciting for us since older coins other than shipwreck stuff is hard to find in Florida. The odd looking coin is a 1920 5 Centavos from Cuba. It also looks like some young stud was daydreaming about the Standing Liberty and 'had his way' with her.
