Wow1 I don't know what it is but it is gorgeous! I'm sure someone here will be able to help ID the material you are questioning. & I do hope it doesn't oxidize.

Took 2 more photos ... close ups of the area in question. There is this white film around the area with black .


Aren't they beautiful! They cost a bit more than what I usually pick up from the rock shop but I couldn't walk out without them.... problem is I bought them for resale and don't want to give them up lol

(Another reason I want to check on the oxidation... I know that the azurite will turn to malachite over time especially in high humidity environment so I need to add a disclaimer, I wouldn't feel right selling it if I didnt.)

I did a bit more searching google and found botryoidal malachite and some specimin from Africa have chrysocolla and that black on the malachite so it could be genuine but I'm totally out of my element here I tend to deal more with varieties of quartz
