Can anyone date these items? Also tossing in a whatzit.

I have a feeling they are 1700's but want to see if there is a expert opinion.

The wedge is a log splitter wedge....but I still own one that we use...so dating would be hard ....everyone I know around here has one or two....

No offense, but it's hard to date objects that could be mud-pies for all the detail apparent. I recommend you soak them in transmission oil or similar and brush the scale, rust, dirt off.

The axe head does not look 18th century. A teardrop shaped eye would be a clue (can't tell in the image). Early axes were folded and forged with a hardened bit on the cutting edge. Later three pieces were used. Later they were formed from a blank and the eye pierced and formed on progressively larger mandrels. It seems to have a wide poll, indicating a later period (1800 & later). And iron (for wedges) would have been a luxury item. Splitting wedges were made from dogwood and driven with a wood maul.

I will soak them a bit and see what appears. Thanks for the advise
