Found this axe that appear to have been broken and then repaired. Can't quite fiqure out how the repaired axe would function

I have broke them like that when i was young and hadnt learned to respect my tools. Here is one i dug awhile back some one has beat on, the side didnt come out like yours but you can see if it would have how the other side would have folded over.IronSpike said:Just seems like a very clean/rounded brake
I've never broke an axe and don't know how clean they can break? Wouldn't the iron have to be reheated in order to bend it this way?

That would be great kuger Rock breaking wedge would be a good function for a broken axe
