Axe Head

Found this axe head 12" down under a big old oak tree, trying to ID it with no luck so far, the lettering I can see is SAIN _ _ _ _ _ _ MO DIAM_ _ _, and a small US above this line. Any help greatly appreciated.

So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forum: Select Your Area.... for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country). Thanks for the replies and the welcomes, this site is awesome.Just started metal detecting a few months back and now I can't get enough of it I should of been doing this my whole life, love it. Being from Wisconsin I am looking at frozen ground soon, not sure if I can make it all winter I might have to take a trip south to get some in until spring. Thanks again.
