Hard to say, appears to be slate,or greenstone, and worked on one side but the flat sides are naturally that way.It is very hard to "age",or date when the chipping was done on stone like that so it could have been done recently as an experiment or example?

I agree one edge is worked but the knapped area does not match the patina of the stone. I also am guesssing it may be recent work. Post it in the Indian artifact section and see what they may say. Cool find!

Looks like a rock that somebody sliced through; could be a composite of different types of minerals/stones? Are you close to a volcano? Or just ancient stuff? I'm no geologist...

Yes,as I said it appears to be either shale or what we call greenstone.....it is all over here. The greenstone was used by the native americans where obsidian was scarce.....it is really hard to chip, but leaves a great edge
