hello new to this site and new to MDing i just dug a axe head up today its made by Kelly co.. cant get a lot of info on it other than the Kelly cross cut etching on it is rare Kelly co has been making Axe heads since 1878 id love to know how old this thing is and if i should try to clean it

um that was the first thing i did!!!
the only thing i got was the kelly cross cut is a UN common marking

The way the upper edge flares slightly from the handle combined with the neck, sure looks like a Kentucky. Cool find, at any rate!! :thumbsup: Skypilot

yeah i have seen the Kelly hand made Axe all over the net some going for 150$ and on that site it said the Kelly cross cut markings was UN common.. that make it worth more? i think the thing is cool just would love to know in what year it was made think I'm going to clean it up and see if it has more markings on it
