Nice button! Is it silver?

Nice button! Is it silver?

Looks like it ..

If not dropped Yesterday , Only Silver or Gold comes out like that ' or maybe fresh Aluminium '.
Kinda hard to see details on the button , but if from the 1800's ; It's a NICE ONE.

Davers

Ya pulled it out of creek bed looking just like that. Havnt cleaned it at all. Its lite as i dont know what. Has a crown at the top with a lion inside what looks to be a shild. Im thinking some coat of arms symbol but cant get a ruff date on it to save my life

Please post a couple closer photos of the front and back of the button does the back have any writing on it? Any makers marks or names on the back?.. Also the type of shank and way it is connected will help with the age of the button
A lot of the British military buttons have a crown like that on top

Will do when i get home tonight and to answer your question nothing is on the back of it just the front design

Interesting find for sure most military buttons would have had something on the back also the type of shank and way it is connected will tell a lot

Ya the shank as you can see looks like a cone with a whole drilled thru it not a normal shank iv seen

I'm not sure where you're located but it also looks Canadian as a possibility

Oops didnt post second pic

Oh yeah I've seen those.
Are you positive there's no writing or marks of any kind on the back even under magnification?

Not trying to get your hopes up but I've seen that style shank go back to the 17 hundreds

This one's got me stumped. At first I was going to suggest that it is a modern blazer button but it doesn't appear to be looking at the back. You should post this in the "What is It" forum with a title like "Help ID family crest button". I think that your title here has not attracted the button experts. Good luck ID'ing it.

Or you could post it in the button forum

Here are some better pics
