" Awsome fancy relic find" smile, backflip, smile, backflip

Hi all, went to the small dump today.Lots of broken shards and glass and the hole was only about 4 foot by 4 foot and bottomed out at 3 feet and half feet.Lots of relics destroyed when the pit was burnt but in the end it did pay off.I found this small embossed pottery toothpaste jar lid.The best thing about these sort of finds all the details are written on them. ;D ;D ;D.The only thing which is not is date.I would say ,the lid was made in 1890's.I use to be able to do backflips but got stiff old body. lol Items of this nature getting hard to find.

tinpan "Some of these lids highly sort after by collectors and
worth quite a bit . I don,t know about this one and don,t
really care."keeper for sure"

Mate, that's an awesome piece of history. Definately a keeper :)
Just out of curiosity, what type of detector do you use?

Thanks for posting

Thanks for the reply Yarrum, this pit was hand dug and sifted. My chose of detectors are Minelab Explorer , Minelab sd 2200,and a Goldspear[ which i don,t think so highly of.]

HI lisa, first relic is a very flat copper horn, the type that had a rubber ball honker.the other relic i think is some sort of fork for fish or sausage.

Here is some info on the lid

Cherry Tooth Paste - Miniature w/ Free Sample - [Dale T532]
1.25 (w) x 0.5 (h) inches
c.1880 (Dale)
presence of "extra moist" indicates post 1884
absence of Ltd. indicates pre 1898

Well lets narrow it down abit more. The QV Jubilee head was 1887 & after that is was the old vailed head. So must be 1885 - 1886. (unless they continued using the young head for branding??)
