"AWESOME" grove gives up some more goodies!
Went out prospecting by the "Awesome" grove, and a short distance away from where the goodies were coming from, I stumbled upon another "Awesome" spot. Within half an hour, I scored 3 wheaties; 1916-s, 1919, & 1919-s. Merc dime; 1918-s, and a Barber dime; 1916. All within a 10'x10' area. Have to go back and grid it out and work it hard. The Barber dime was over 12" deep and came in at 01-41 on the E-Trac, barely made a faint signal. Merc was at about 7" or 8". Wheaties were deep too. Tuned up the machine by cranking up the gain to 27 and sensitivity to 24. I can't believe how faint some of the signals of these coins were.
All in all a good day in my books! Can't wait to go back there and hit it hard and slow.
Enjoy and HH!
Sorry the pics are yellowish, but it is dark and I am using artificial light. Coins are uncleaned as you can see. The silver has some black on it, and the wheaties should clean up nice.
