Avon Toe Ring?

Hello all,
Found what I believe is an Avon Toe Ring... The inside diameter is only 14mm.
Only markings are " Avon ", I believe it is silver plate.

Also, found this old pin, made of brass, with the letter "C" on it. Looks like it used to be gold plate, probably somekind of older costume jewelry.

Did they ever stick real diamonds in something that was gold plate? These diamonds look dull and cloudy, but they will cut glass like it was nothing,,, could they be real???
This brings me to another question: Can you buy one of those diamond testers like the jeweler uses? And what would you call it, if you were to look for one?
I would hate to run out to the jeweler everytime I need to see if one is real or not.
I have found so many diamonds? lately, my Cousin is starting to call me the " Diamond Man ",,, lol.

also yes its possible they used real diamonds in gold plate stuff infact they still do but the quality is extremely low
