I went out today braving the rain and wind to a park where I'd found some older coins last week. Mostly I was just finding decimal 1c and 2c coins. Then as I got closer to one of the old trees in the park i pulled out two pennies from the 40s and a half penny of roughly the same vintage. They all looked well corroded and this was confirmed when I got them home to wash the dirt off. Just before I called it quits for the day I got a nice signal and out popped a shiney silver 1939 threepence which is 92.5% silver. Too bad its only as big as a US penny.
All the same I was happy to find my little bit of silver for the day.
