I haven't been to any auctions at the local auction houses. I've been to all kinds of auctions on site and prices have always been too close to retail to make it interesting. I was pleasantly surprised this weekend. A few of the items I bought;

I paid $5 for the Kmart 100 portable typewriter in mint condition.
$20 for the White's Eagle in near mint cond., but it needs a battery pack.
$10 for a set of 6 marked Waterford Crystal liqueur/cordial glasses.
The Anchor carafe was in a sealed box I paid $12 for. I'd value the other contents at around $80 or so.
I paid $12 for what I thought was a huge lot of vintage post cards. The pile was large. It turned to be souvenir folders from all over. There were 70 of them and they range in age from 1928 to 1980, some were posted, but most were not.

Nice finds GibH.

You mean you bought this stuff from an auction at a home? Is that what you mean by onsite? Or do you mean online? It's early and I haven't had my coffee yet so sorry for the stupid question.The Waterford cordials are a good score. I think the pattern is Colleen, no?

By on site I meant estate auctions at the home of the estate and surplus auctions. This was at one of the local auction houses. The pattern is indeed Colleen. They were near the end of the auction and I was the only bid.
