I don't know if this link and info has ever been posted before, BUT it is too good to let pass. This link will carry you to the University of Alabama historical map area; to the atlas in particular. You MAY have to allow a viewing plug-in to download first so that the maps can be viewed and copied. ( I did )

Once you can view each plate, the plate's window allows you to zoom-in and out to inspect the map to make sure you want to download it.

I could have posted this link under the "Maps" heading because these maps are not copyrighted, but, since they deal purely with the CW, I put the link here--under "Civil War".

Excuse me, I have a lot of downloading to do.
