Local finds are the most fun. Maybe not huge on value but afford an incredible sense of how things were back in the day. In this imagine-when case, Atlantic City, now one of the world's gambling capitals -- not far from my home island -- hides a past rooted in Garden State agricultural history. Click to enlarge image.
By the by: This item was found March 10, not very deep (maybe four inches), located by my trusty Fisher CZ3D -- and my now indispensable smaller coil.
Who would think that smaller coils can be (way) better than standard or over-sized coils but after 45 years behind the detector, I've gone small and I'm scoring incredible items I missed with larger loops -- and often very deep down.
The smaller coils rock in Fe-laced trash zones, often sites I was sure had been hunted to death. In a reverse-thinking manner: size does matter.
