Finally was able to get out some this weekend while the temps were in the soaring 50s.

Met up with JCOBB to a place he found that had major potential, He ended up finding alot of old coins and Silvers

I found a 1920 Mercury dime about an hour into it. Then I started to dig Wheat penny after Wheat penny. I think I ended up with about 14 or 15 of them.

Then I found the 1950 Rosie, and this thing that Im guess is the top of a Tea Infusser? :dontknow: The good thing was that it DID test for Silver!

Right before I was redy to leave, I got a deep 80-81 hit on the ATP. I figured it was another wheat, When I pulled the plug, it was still inside the hole.

I started to pull the dirt out and saw a silver rim. Then I plucked out this beauty!

it says its a 1942 "Two Shillings" coin..I couldnt belive how big it was for the signal it was given.

So all in all...it was a very nice weekend!

I did the ultimate "fo-paw" on the foreign coin and cleaned it up, it wasnt in the best shape when i dug it, but after i got the gunk of, it looked to be in Great shape

Man your 2 Shillings coin cleaned up nice!
I'm still sore from Our all day hunt on Saturday lol

Looks like that one piece may be a part of a incense burner... great finds

That smashed thimble-like thing is the top of a silver salt or pepper shaker. I have a set that it would go to. I also have a 1943 two shillings piece, but unfortunately they are only 50% silver. But hey, silver is silver! Excellent finds.

Cleaned or not it all looks good to me .
Congratz...Davers

That's a very cool 2 shillings coin !!! Looks like you guys may be pulling some more silver out of that place before it's over. Congrats on your silver finds !!! I need to do some more research around here because I am running out of good hunting places. You guys ever get to NE Texas give me a shout.
